Exploring Woodstock, GA: A Growing Community

Located just 15 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta, Woodstock is known as the home of professional wrestler Buff Bagwell and the current or former homes of many celebrities including golfer Chris Kirk, Braves player Nick Markakis and The Walking Dead’s Chandler Riggs. The city’s quaint downtown shopping and restaurant district offers a mix of new and carefully preserved buildings with plenty of energy and excitement. The walkable area is anchored by three magnet destinations: Woodstock Arts with visual arts center, cafe and theater; Reformation Brewery with deck and taproom; and MadLife Stage & Studios with state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor stages for bands and daily performances. The city also hosts a variety of events throughout the year to celebrate its heritage and to give back to the community. For example, on Friday, February 16, 2024, the City will host its annual Arbor Day celebration. Approximately 730 tree seedlings will be distributed at City Hall Annex, the William G. Long Senior Center and the Woodstock Visitors Center. One of the most popular things to do in Woodstock is explore the city’s extensive trail system, known as Greenprints. The trails connect many of the town’s major attractions and are rated as some of the best in Georgia. You can take a leisurely stroll to the town’s parks, enjoy a scenic ride on the Rope Mill Trail or hike around Blankets Creek.
